Welcoming Imbolc: A time to build from your dreams (by Liz Worth)

If you were challenged to find some groundedness a couple weeks ago when Jupiter squared Neptune, take heart:

This Thursday, January 31, you can find some new footing with Saturn sextile Neptune.

Saturn asks us to do the work. It helps us to find our sense of duty in the world and rewards those who put in the effort. With Saturn sextile Neptune, we can all make progress within our spiritual paths and spiritual work.

For anyone who has a spiritually-based business, or performs acts of service or healing, this can be an auspicious time. Especially if you have been challenged by blurred boundaries, demanding clients, or unrealistic expectations.

In this world where we are taught that the “customer is always right,” it’s very difficult to know where that rule begins and ends. From a consumer side of things, many people have confused the message with thinking that they can buy their way to rudeness. And when companies of all sizes are willing to accommodate anything less than respect towards their staff, it can give people a serious superiority complex.

They start to think they can get away with anything they want, and that every demand should be met.

But if you’ve ever been on the receiving end of such behaviours (and so many of us have), you know that realistically, everyone has their limits.

We can only do so much. We can only say “yes” so many times before we run out of time and energy to commit to it all. We can only give if we are taking time to refill our own reserves.

This week gives each of us the chance to see where our acts of service – whether they are personal, or professional – are coming from a sustainable place. If not, take some time this week to firm up your boundaries, look at what you are ready to stop doing, and let yourself say no where it’s necessary.

This is also a great time to map out any spiritual goals for yourself at this time. If you want to deepen your devotion to an existing practice, explore a new path, or connect with your deities or guides for their support with a special plan, set some time aside this week to reflect on those dreams.

On Saturday, February 2, we welcome Imbolc. This is the halfway point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox.
The Empress is this week’s card which fits so well with the themes of this week. The Empress is the divine feminine and a fierce creator. She can support and ground that spiritual work we see with Saturn sextile Neptune, and also speaks to the burgeoning fertility of Imbolc through the lens of the Goddess or the Mother.

Imbolc is the halfway point between the winter solstice and spring equinox, when the Goddess changes from Crone to Maiden again.

This makes Imbolc the start of a new cycle. The energy is very new, young, and embryonic. It is the vessel in which a seed can grow.

Take note of any inspiration that hits you this week. Take note of what you want more of and less of, or what you want to do differently altogether.

Offer those intentions to the universe on February 2 and imagine them being held deep in the earth, where they can form into a seed that will sprout throughout the spring.

If you would like to work with an intention this week, here is one to explore:

Hello, Liz! I want to thank you for posting this guide to us. I am one of the few people who believe in these cards. I guess, nothing is wrong if you believe in a matter like this. This can just serve as a guide but that drown't mean that we need to believe what is said there. That's one of the biggest misconception about these cards, and I feel bad for those people who do not know it. I am hoping that they will get educated afterwards.
