Dust Off Your Dreams (by Annalene Hart)

Now is the perfect time to dust off those dreams
that have been shelved for years.

Do any still grab your fancy?
If so, what is it that sparks your imagination and interest?

A major clue to identify one of your gifts is to recognize what activity or skill leads you into the timelessness. When you are so absorbed that you lose track of time, this can indicate that you are tapping into something that you naturally love to do, and most likely, have an aptitude for! If you are still not sure what that might be, retrace what your interests were as a child or young adult.

Protect your sacred dreams so they may flourish. Protect them from boots that crush dreams prematurely, so that they never see the light of day. Discouragement and doubt can stunt many dreams from being realized. The only way to fail is to give up too soon! An authentic dream that comes from the heart is meant to be fulfilled. Why else would it wish to be expressed through you, the perfect instrument?

Keep an idea book or an idea log on your computer or phone, of all your inspired dreams! Daydream  these ideas and allow your imagination to run wild! Have fun with the process. Remember, there are no limits to your imagination. Whatever you can imagine is a possibility waiting to be created and divinely orchestrated. As Albert Einstein so wisely stated: "Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." May imagination dance in your garden of dreams coming true.

Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Knowledge is limited.

Imagination encircles the world."

(Albert Einstein)

All fired up: Welcoming the Full Moon in Aries (by Liz Worth)

As the sixth sign of the zodiac, Libra season reminds us that we are halfway through the astrological year.

Aries starts us off every March, and sits in opposition to Libra.

Today brings the Aries Full Moon, a culmination point that connects back to March 17. Full moons bring things to fruition, and so we are asked to reflect back on our plans just before the 2018 spring season began.

Full moons are markers in our greater chapters. They are places where we can put a period on the end of a sentence, or get a revealing insight that helps to answer something we weren’t clear on six months before.

If you had set any intentions on or around March 17, or had any significant events around then, you might want to check in this week to see how things have transpired since.

Today’s Moon reaches fullness at 10:52pm EST, in a tight conjunction with Chiron, the Wounded Healer. Conjunctions amplify the energies of the planets involved.

Chiron is still retrograde. Together, Chiron and today’s Full Moon can provide an opportunity to see where some of your old stories are ready to conclude.

These stories can connect to patterns or past experiences that have blocked your ability to assert yourself in the world. They can connect to blocks you’ve run into that have stalled your independence, determination, or confidence.

Aries wants to win. It wants to succeed, but only ever on its own terms. Let today’s energies show you where you can find freedom.

If something has been holding you back – insecurity, shyness, motivation – allow it to be released to this Full Moon. Let today’s energy show you a new way forward.

Tomorrow, Chiron enters Pisces, shifting our inward energies towards healing the soul and spirit.

Where has your connection to the divine become broken?

In a world where too many people are invested in creating just one view, one way of thinking, and one way of believing, it isn’t surprising that many of us become blocked or confused in connecting to our spiritual paths.

Even I deal with it all the time. I have family members who still don’t understand what my work is about, or why I do it.

I have had friends challenge my choices, trying to convince me that there is no point in believing in anything at all.

What a cold existence that would be, to believe in nothing at all. I would never give up the warmth I get from the trust I have in the universe.

Picture
But I had to work for that trust. I have had times in my life where I felt detached from the spiritual world. Not by choice, but just because I was…unable to feel a connection. Or too busy or distracted to make the time.

We all have to work to maintain our relationships with whatever we believe in. And sometimes, we have to work to find our way back to it.

Give your path a little extra love these days, whatever that path may be.
Leave an extra offering for your deities.
Say a prayer of gratitude.
Give the universe a tarot reading.

We can help strengthen the spiritual energy of the world when we send gratitude to the paths we follow. Just as we see in this week’s card, the Three of Swords, where a gathering is taking place.

What do you want to gather around to mourn, heal, or rally for?

On Sunday, September 30, Pluto stations direct after being retrograde since April. Over these past several months, Pluto retrograde has been digging up power struggles, and constraints within the existing structures in your life.

Relationships to work, money, and tradition have all been coming up for review.

There is a push and pull between tradition and transformation here, as Pluto is asking us all to question and challenge the current societal structures that are in place.

Often, these changes begin at the personal level, bubbling up from within.

Listen, and then listen some more. The universe is begging us for to do things differently.

Here is an intention for you to work with throughout the week:

“I am setting myself free.”

And a tarot spread for the Aries Full Moon:
  1. What part of myself is ready to be healed?
  2. What am I ready to express?
  3. How can I cultivate confidence?
  4. What can no longer hold me back?
Until next time,

Welcoming Libra season and the Fall Equinox (by Liz Worth)

We are in the final days of summer. In my part of the world, school starts in early September, after Labour Day, which always feels like the unofficial start of fall.

But the first day of autumn actually begins with the fall equinox and the Sun’s entry Libra, which occurs this Saturday, September 22, at 9:54pm.

For me, paying attention to the seasons isn’t just about weather watching. It is about stepping in and out of distinctive themes and energies time and time again. We come to associate certain memories and expectations with every season.

We also feel differently as these cycles come and go. For many of us, autumn can be an inspiring time. The days gets shorter. Night reigns, changing our desires and routines.

You might be craving early evenings when you can get tucked into bed with a book. Or you might be galvanized by that back-to-school feeling, seeking out workshops or classes to take.

Or you might simply be looking forward to some of your own fall traditions, and enjoying the season as it is.

The Fall Equinox gives us a balance of night and day, just as we see in the scales of Libra. It is a powerful time to get clear about what is tipping your scales.

As we move into the harvest season, we are asked to prepare for what we’ve sown throughout the year, as well as to mourn any crops that haven’t grown as planned. Or, to realize that we’ve planted seeds that no longer nourish us.

Chapters close at these times. Friendships, jobs, projects, and business plans that are taking more energy than they are worth come up for re-evaluation.
Picture
The Eight of Cups appeared for this week’s forecast. Often, this card symbolizes transition. Sometimes, it depicts a necessary but difficult journey, one that may even feel unexpected at first.

It is hard to move on, sometimes. Even if we can see the promise of what’s to come, it can be a struggle to trust that letting go of what’s familiar is going to be what’s best.

The Eight of Cups teaches us that, sometimes, the things we love can one day become the things we end up saying goodbye to. Looking back, we might wonder how we could have outgrown something that was once so good.

When you build something, whether it’s a relationship, home, job, or state of mind, there can come a time when you realize that it’s not for you anymore.

Remember that fall is both a season of harvest, and a season of death. Halloween or Samhain, All Soul’s Day, and Scorpio season are all around the corner.

The Fall Equinox asks you to see what is coming along with you as the seasons change, and what is being left behind.

Trust in the steps you are taking now, whether it’s towards something new, or away from something old.

Light a candle for yourself on September 22 and make a promise that you will care for the harvest of your life in any way necessary.

Until next time,

Liz

Mars in Aquarius and fresh inspiration in the final days of summer (by Liz Worth)

Mars enters Aquarius tonight at 8:56pm EST.

The planet of drive and determination enters the sign of the water bearer, the place where ideas flow freely.

Sometimes we talk about Mars as the planet of war, but no planet is ever limited to just one energy or definition. When Mars is in Aquarius, though, I think it’s worth noting the dichotomy between these two.

Aquarius has a reputation for emotional disconnection, but we can’t forget that it’s also a highly social, humanitarian energy. If there is any disconnect, it’s often because Aquarius is already a few steps ahead of everyone else, lost in the potential of the future, refining tomorrow’s promise.

Mars likes to have its way. In our personal natal charts, Mars is where we assert ourselves. It is where we want what we want, and how, and when. It is our willpower, and the way we exert our energy.

So when Mars meets up with innovative Aquarius, the rebel of the zodiac, limitations are lifted.
Where we once felt stalled in our ideas, plans, or progress, Aquarius begins to reveal a different way of doing things.

Maybe it’s a gentler way. Or one that comes through community or collaboration.

Maybe it’s not the expected way, but that’s because Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, which never does anything the same way twice.

So if you’ve been up against a wall lately, or feeling stuck for energy or inspiration, tap into Mars’ energy in the days ahead.

Ask yourself if you need fresh motivation. Or if you’re in a rut with your personal routines – anything from work to working out, to creative processes to the schedules you keep.

Ask yourself, too, if there is any way you’d like to shift your energy in the world. Mars in Aquarius can make us see where we are being impatient with those we share this planet with.

Is there a small gesture that you can carry forward that might temper Mars’ war-like energy, and help it connect with Aquarius’ community-driven optimism?

The little things add up with personal planets like Mars.

And it’s the little things we see in the cards this week with the Princess of Wands. This card initiates us into new ideas, and new forms of expression. It is an inherently creative energy, but you don’t have to be an artist to appreciate it.

It is also a reminder that life isn’t always about being inspired, but also being the source of someone else’s inspiration.
Everything is our creation. You can create a memory for someone through a kind word, or by sharing your time, or voicing a valuable perspective.

It all counts.

A Better Tomorrow Starts with How You Treat Yourself Today (by Sheila Olson)

Wake up. Eat breakfast. Get dressed. Go to work. Stress until midnight. Repeat. If that sounds like you, keep scrolling for ways you can beat the humdrum while keeping yourself healthy and happy. The best part is that you can do these things every day for a quick pick-me-up.

Picture
Image via Pixabay
  • Wake up 30 minutes early. If you’re not typically one to rise with the roosters, you’re missing out on a host of health benefits. Waking early affords an opportunity to prepare a healthy breakfast and can improve the quality of sleep you get each night. Health Ambition also reports that waking up early can boost your productivity, so you will have more time to do the things you want since you’ve completed your to-do list.

  • Stop your bad habits. This is pretty simple and it’s mostly common sense. If you smoke, stop. If you drink more than a Viking warrior, stop. All of the negative things you do to your body can add up to health problems that can cut your life short by years. Likewise, cutting out your bad habits has far-reaching positive effects. According to Healthline, it takes just three days for your lung capacity to increase after your last cigarette. A month after your last gin and tonic, your liver fat level is slashed by about 15 percent and your belly may show signs of slimming down.

  • Turn your home into a mini spa. “Me” time is essential for your overall health and well-being. But if you don’t have the time or money to sneak away or pay for a babysitter, consider turning your home into an R & R retreat. Angie’s List recommends a hot cup of tea, some soothing music, and a warm shower for starters. If you’re feeling especially creative, you can DIY a hot stone massage or learn how to make your own skin care products for a customized experience.

  • Have a drink (of water). Drinking water is about the best thing you can do for yourself, and as a bonus, it costs just pennies to fill up your water bottle. Drinking plenty of water will hydrate your skin and flush your system of toxins. One blogger from Well and Good also claims that drinking water in the morning can give you an energy boost and combat nighttime dehydration.

  • Exercise before bed. If you’re a morning person, go ahead and knock your physical activity out before the rest of your household lifts their heads off the pillow. But if you’re like the rest of is, don’t believe the old wives’ tale that nighttime exercise will keep you awake. In fact, studies have shown that people who exercise for more than half an hour just prior to bed sleep just fine.

  • Read a book. You might not consider flipping through the pages of Great Expectations beneficial for your health, but reading books – yes, actual printed, paper books – is good for the mind and body. Paper is easier on the eyes, which can reduce strain caused by staring at a computer screen day in and day out. Plus, flipping pages is a much better way to wind down for the evening than scrolling through your social media feeds.

  • Add some color to your diet. You have to eat well in order to maintain your health. It’s not enough to pop a few supplements; the best way to intake nutrition is to chew it. If you are not a vegetable person, you need to reframe the way you think about garden fare. Find a vegetable you like and use it as a gateway food to other orange, green, red, and yellow fruits and vegetables.
There you have it, simple and effective ways to keep your mind and body in top shape. From waking up early to hitting the gym after dark, taking care of yourself today will ensure you have a better tomorrow.

Welcoming the New Moon in Virgo and Saturn Direct (by Liz Worth)

Since April 17, Saturn retrograde in Capricorn has been asking you to look at how you commit.

These past several months have brought opportunities to re-examine your sense of stability in the world. To re-direct or re-orient your time, focus, energy, and boundaries so that you can do what you came here to do.

And what is that, exactly?

What do you believe your purpose is? It can be overwhelming to think about purpose and potential as a singular focus throughout a lifetime. Rather than assuming it can only ever be one thing, I prefer to think look at how purpose relates to the here and now:
“What do I feel is my mission at this time in my life?”
The chapters you live through can all add up to one epic adventure, or a series of narratives that have you starring in different roles, or as different characters, throughout time.
Everyone’s saga is ongoing, but unique. Sometimes we reinvent ourselves every few years with new jobs, new styles, new relationships, or new places to live. Sometimes we reinvent ourselves more subtly, through new outlooks, attitudes, and perspectives.

With Saturn going direct this Thursday, September 6, the energy of the week ahead asks you to look back at the emerging themes, lessons, and commitments since April. Especially those that relate to actions or decisions you’ve taken – or still plan to take – that will help you feel more secure, stable, and focused in all that you do.

One of Capricorn’s symbols is the mountain goat, always climbing. And yet when its ruler, Saturn, is retrograde, the goat takes a pause to catch its breath, secure its footing, and to ensure it is even on the right mountain

Like the Seven of Wands that I pulled for this week, it can be time to clear the route of any weeds or blockages that are keeping you from moving forward with the ease you desire.

And if it is in fact time for you to find a different slope to climb, trust that you have now gathered the knowledge you need to continue your ascent, no matter what direction you choose.

The Virgo New Moon arrives this Sunday, September 9 at 2:01pm EST. With Virgo’s steadfast, methodical energy, this New Moon will help you integrate the lessons that have come about since the spring.

Virgo is also the final sign of the summer season. It helps us to begin our preparations for the coming harvest of autumn. What will you reap this fall? Remember that Saturn is a taskmaster and karmic driver, and so helps us to collect any rewards we have earned.

Picture
Set your intentions with this New Moon to invite in the rewards for a labour of love, or to cleanse your calendar of any extraneous commitments that you’ve realized are only holding you back from your true raison d’être.
“I am ready to do the work of my life.”
And if you’d like to connect with the Virgo New Moon through tarot, here is a spread to help:
  1. What lesson am I ready to put to use?
  2. Where am I still caught in the weeds?
  3. What can I focus on instead?
  4. What reward can I create for myself as a result?
Until next time,
Liz
