Unlocking the mysteries with Mercury conjunct Neptune and Venus in Pisces (by Liz Worth)

You might remember that a few weeks ago I mentioned this retrograde period might not be so easy.

Why? Because Mercury in Pisces alone can make us fuzzy-headed and foggy. Mercury retrograde in Pisces can make it even more of a struggle to get your thinking straight.

But maybe that’s the point.

Our society is so concerned with getting from A to B. With making the rules and enforcing them. The demands for absolute perfection are unrealistic. And often misguided.

And when things don’t go the way we think they are supposed to – when someone says that something we don’t expect, or don’t like; when something run late; when a commitment or contract isn’t honoured; when deadlines are missed or meetings go totally off track – it’s so easy to get thrown off by it.

But maybe that the lesson that the universe keeps trying to teach us, but we’re not getting it: There is no schedule. There is no structure. Yet we keep trying to create architecture out of time, love and energy.

And the rules? They don’t matter as much as you think.

Now, I’m not saying that this means we should run wild and wreak havoc. (Well, maybe a little bit of wildness can be fun). I’m saying that it doesn’t hurt to look at where we are being too rigid, too hard on ourselves, or on others, and ask:

“Why do I have this expectation, anyway?”
  • Do things have to be perfect every time?
  • Do things always have to exactly as planned?
  • Do we always have to get our way, no matter what?
  • Does one view, one opinion, or one path really have all the answers?

There are always different ways of doing things and seeing things. And there are so many different ways to be.

Every day in this universe is different, and the things that we may get hung up on today usually have little to no bearing on the direction of this universe a month from now. Or a year from now. And in another lifetime? We can only dream of knowing what that might look like.

Yesterday, on Sunday, March 24, Mercury conjunct Neptune, opening up our creative and spiritual channels. The energy in the air right now can be strange.

Synchronicities and intuitive hits may be more common, but if people are a little less reliable, or if things aren’t making much sense, know that this energy is also cause for confusion.

Allow your mind to engage in magical thinking.  Let your thoughts go to new places. Let yourself see beyond the mundane so that your energy is not misdirected towards the little things that don’t really matter.

On Tuesday, March 26, Venus enters Pisces, heightening our spiritual and creative senses once again. Venus will be in Pisces until April 20, giving us just under a month to continue to hone our spiritual and artistic desires.

Picture
  • What do you want to feel more connected to now?
  • What rule are you ready to break free from, if it means having a greater sense of peace and purpose?
  • Where are you ready to part the veils and gain a glimpse of something new and unexpected, something that can’t be found on an itinerary or in a manual?

Like the tarot’s Hierophant, we can hold tight to rules and traditions, but we have to remember that what we see is not all there is. We must consciously work to unlock deeper understandings of our lives and our worlds so that we can lift the veil on our purposes.

“I am building trust in life’s uncertainties.”

Until next time,

Liz xo

Welcoming Aries season, the Spring Equinox and the Libra Full Moon (by Liz Worth)

This week brings a powerful check-in point for each of us.

Overall, the astrology of 2019 has been quite interesting. It’s a different feel from last year, but that’s the point, isn’t it? To pay attention to the subtleties and nuances, and how we can find these energetic reflections in the ebbs and flows of our individual lives.

Just like last Monday, the waxing Moon is creating a stir within. With aspects from Neptune, Saturn, Venus, Mercury, Mars, Pluto, Jupiter, the Sun, and Uranus throughout the day, the Moon’s energies will be amplified by many moods, emotions, and ideas.

What does this mean for you? If you set any intentions at the start of this lunar cycle, you may be feeling a call to act upon them now, but here’s a restlessness in the air, too.

The first days of the week can be good for journaling, visioning, and brainstorming. Plotting out your story, your life.

But for some, there may be too much of an electric current in the air to decide on what to do first. If you’re feeling mixed up rather than focused, keep waiting.

Aries season is just around the corner.

The Sun enters Aries on Wednesday, March 20 at 5:58pm EST, and so begins the season of spring here in the northern hemisphere.

Pisces is the twelfth sign of the zodiac, the last stop on the wheel before we renew ourselves with spring. Pisces helps us to find healing, transcendence, and inspiration so that we can start anew again with Aries – and move into action.

Over these next few days, check in with yourself and ask:
  • What has come to a conclusion for you since the end of winter in 2018?
  • What cycle, pattern, or belief are you releasing now?
  • What are you ready to do next?
  • What do you believe this coming season holds for you?
  • What do you want it to hold for you?

If you set an intentions at Imbolc around February 1st or 2nd, tend to the seeds of those intentions this week. Get ready for them to be sown throughout the spring.

Even though there can still be snow on the ground and cool, gray days depending on where you are in the world, the energy that this time of year represents is the story of the seed that must push against hard, frozen ground.

Aries is season is about determination. It is also about waking up after a long winter and allowing something new to take hold in your life.

Picture
You might feel like you are working on frozen ground with something now, but take heart: Aries’ fire will warm things up. Keep tending to your seeds and your soil, like the Knight of Pentacles here would.

This card showed up earlier this month, too. Here, it reminds us of the work we want to do, and need to, in order to make our intentions real.

So if you are checking in with yourself this week, that may be another question to explore:

What do I have to do this spring to make my intentions come to life?

This year, the Full Moon in Libra also falls on the Spring Equinox. This is the first of two Libra full moons we’ll experience in 2019; the second arrives on April 19.

Aries is the pioneer, the individual of the zodiac. It is the “me, myself, and I” of astrology, whereas Libra is the Other that asks, “What about us?”

When we move through seasonal shifts, we sometimes notice that our relationships and identities go through changes, too.

These changes can become particularly clear when we start making new choices for ourselves. Are the influences around a help, or a hindrance?

Your intentions are precious seeds that can be sown throughout the spring.

Keep them close to your heart, and don’t be discouraged by those who aren’t able to tend to their own gardens.

“I am open to changing seasons around me, and within me.”

And if you want to connect with this week’s Full Moon in Libra, here is a tarot spread to try:

1. What can I grow for myself this spring?
2. What kind of care will this require?
3. What is changing in the season of my life?
4. What can I do to embrace this change?

Until next time,

Liz xo

Drinking the waters of Pisces season to heal and create (by Liz Worth)

We are a week into the first Mercury retrograde of 2019.

We are also in a fresh lunar cycle. The Moon is a waxing crescent, and it’s building energy. It’s helping us to intuit new ideas, directions, or decisions that we may need.
  • How is it all going for you so far?
  • What is being highlighted for you when it comes to your own healing?
  • What need have you become deprived of?
  • What do you thirst for?

The water sign of Pisces asks us to heal our spirits through magic, poetry, prayer, purpose, art, and escape. It asks to look at what truths, necessities, and experiences we are hungering for.

It’s so easy to put something off. It’s so easy to tell ourselves that we should focus on the thing that will make us the most money, the safe bet, the secure deal.

Or to do what’s expected of us in order to appease someone else’s dreams, fears, or expectations.

It’s so easy to squeeze ourselves out of our own days, to lose precious time on things that don’t hold much meaning for us.

Pisces reminds us that when we focus on healing our wounds, no matter how deep or old they are, no matter how they got there, we become better for it.

It reminds us that it is never a waste of time to care for the self, whether that care is emotional, spiritual, or physical.

There is no judgement with Pisces. It asks you to stop comparing your pain to the rest of the world. It asks you to stop saying things like, “People have it so much worse than me. I don’t deserve to complain about this.”

It is not about who is suffering more, or what kind of longings are more valid. Who gets to decide those things, anyway? We all have our own paths to walk, our own responsibilities.

Pisces reminds you that no one is walking in your shoes but you. You know what you are craving. You know what you are ready to heal, to love, to have, to hold.

Today’s lunar energies, Monday, March 11, hold a special charge to them. Venus, Neptune, Mars, Saturn, the Sun, Pluto and Jupiter all make aspects to the Moon today, amplifying your desires, dreams, and drive.

The universe is showing you a new way to commit to your life, to soothe the soles of your feet, especially if they have grown tired from the path you are on. To expand and transform through your desires.

The Nine of Cups was the card I pulled for this week, which is perfect for the watery energies we are in right now. This is a card of joy, fulfillment.

Even if Mercury retrograde is causing confusion right now, try to make some time this week to connect with a source of happiness. Something that you know you need, something that you no longer want to put off.

“I intend to take care of myself.”

Until next time,

Creation from confusion: Pisces season gets murky with this week’s Mercury retrograde and New Moon (by Liz Worth)

The first Mercury retrograde of 2019 begins this week, Tuesday, March 5, at 1:19pm EST, in the sign of Pisces.

Mercury has already been in Pisces since February 10. Because of this month’s retrograde, Mercury will stay in this sign until April 17.

Typically, Mercury only spends a couple weeks in each sign. To have Mercury – such a cerebral planet –  swimming in the intuitive oceans of Pisces for such an extended period of time is going to be, well, interesting to say the least.

Mercury doesn’t always function very well in Pisces. It’s not that it wreaks havoc, but it can make things a bit fuzzy, confused. Pisces energy can be dreamy, spacey. It is creative as hell, but not always grounded enough to harness its inspiration.

Mercury is all about connecting the dots and getting a message across. With Mercury in Pisces, life can start to feel like a big game of broken telephone. Misunderstandings arise and messages get mixed up. We can be a little more forgetful, and a little less focused on the task at hand.

Since February 10, some people might have felt like they were already under the influence of Mercury retrograde.

The first week that Mercury entered Pisces, I forgot my wallet, lost the plot of the novel I’m writing (it has since come back, thankfully), and kept misplacing my sunglasses which were in my pocket the whole time (of course).

But Mercury in Pisces can also be beautiful, creative, and inspiring. Since February 10, our minds have been under the influence of the higher realms.

Pisces is poetry, transcendence, and dream worlds. It is non-linear concepts and spiritual epiphanies. It is about feeling your way through something to avoid over-thinking it.

This hasn’t been a time to put pressure on yourself to run the tightest ship, or force yourself to do all of the things you “should” be doing.

This has been a time to open your creative channels. To let yourself find new sources of inspiration, or deepen a spiritual path. We often talk about Mercury’s rulership over communication, technology, and travel, but we mustn’t forget that Mercury also rules divination – another form of communication.

Mercury and Pisces is an invitation to tune into your intuition. To be your own oracle. To speak from the heart rather than the head.

During this retrograde period, allow yourself the time and space to reflect on your gut instinct. If you feel creatively stifled, or spiritually stuck, the next few weeks might highlight what needs to change so that you can find more flow.

Will this retrograde be an easy one? That always depends on our individual experiences. I would say to broaden your leeway with schedules and expectations, for others and for yourself.

People’s heads are under water right now, and we might not be communicating as clearly or gracefully as we might like.

On Wednesday, March 6, the New Moon in Pisces arrives. New moons help us to create space in our lives. They are points of activation for new energies and intentions to enter our hearts.

This New Moon is conjunct Neptune, which gives it an added potency for intuitive hits.

Ask yourself:

  • Is a piece of writing or art waiting to come through you?
  • Do you want more room to play?
  • Do you need more room to explore your spirituality?
  • Is a new path calling to you?
  • Is an existing path deepening?
  • Do you want to listen to your heart more than your head this year?

Sit with yourself during this New Moon.

With Mercury retrograde, it can be a powerful time to rest and reflect rather than act upon anything right away. Listen, and wait. Let yourself sit with the truths that reveal themselves to you.

Usually, these truths are nothing surprising. You already know what you need, but this is the time to commit to giving it to yoursel

And if you’re feeling like things are too spacey, too free-flowing, take cue from this week’s card, the Knight of Pentacles. It would be so fitting that I pulled such an earthy card at a time when we need a reminder to stay grounded.

Uranus also enters Taurus on Wednesday, which will give us four planets in earth signs right now – a helpful mix to remind us to keep our feet firmly planted on the earth as we journey through Pisces season:

“I am giving voice to my inner knowledge.”

If you want to use tarot to connect with this week’s Pisces New Moon, here is a spread you can try:
1. What is the universe trying to show me right now?
2. What can I do to honour this message?
3. What is my creative self trying to do right now?
4. What can I do to honour this energy?

And if you'd like to make the Moon’s energies and cycles a bigger part of your path, I invite you to join me in my upcoming Moon Magick program. This is a six-week online course that starts on Monday, March 11. Details and registration can be found at lizworth.com/moon

Happy New Moon!

Until next time,
