As Above So Below: Embodying Nature

After over 20 years of reading hands, I never seem to tire at how beautifully the hand mimics nature. From planets in our cosmos to the tiniest streamlet, the hand is a living embodiment of the old saying "as above, so below". Just as the force from within the earth thrusts upward to form it's hills and mountains, so too does the force from within us move outward and manifest as "mounts" on the hand. These puffy mounds are each named after a different planet, each with their attributes and challenges, and each populated by the rivers and streams which make up the lines of the palm.

For instance, the mount that is being pointed to in the image here is the Lunar Mount. When it is large and dipping low into the wrist, we can read it like a full moon connecting us with divination, dream, energy, emotion, and inspiration.

Individuals with this quality to their Lunar Mount prioritize the spiritual and energetic realm, and are gifted with bringing messages back from the other side - be it in the form of art, song, channelled works, dream. As a next step, we would look at the lines that flow around or from this mount to understand how those messages are manifesting, be it a source of joy or purpose, a process of spiritual study, or a particular way of thinking. For example, Einstein's mount interacts with his Head Line in a way that points to intuitive / inspired thought. You can read more about that HERE.
It is the relationship between the hills and the rivers that speaks volumes, reminding us that the hidden aspects of the moon are as important as the visible, like this quote by Max Heindel:
There is a side of the Moon which we never see, but that hidden half is as potent a factor in causing the ebb and flow of the Earth's tide as the part of the Moon which is visible. (Max Heindel)
We have so much to learn from nature, and from seeing ourselves not as disconnected from it, but another aspect or embodiment of it, adhering to the same laws and principles, the same resources and processes to pull us through times of change and transformation. If you're interested in learning how to apply palmistry into your assessment process with clients over time, you may be interested in attending my upcoming workshop, scheduled for May 27th from 1:30-4:30pm at the Inner Arts Collective: "The Landscape of the Hand":
