In January of this year, the Inner Arts Collective began its journey on becoming a zero-waste organization. As a collective of individuals committed to thriving, it is a logical next step to exemplify the principles of environmental sustainability.

In response, an Environmental Leadership Team was struck, consisting of Members up to the task of helping the Inner Arts Collective through this transformation process.

As a first order of business, the Environmental Leadership Team agreed on 2 goals:
  1. To reduce / divert waste from landfill / incineration / environment by 90% (Zero-Waste Business Certification requirement) by the end of 2020.
  2. Reduce what goes into the recycling by 70% by the end of 2020* (This goal will be revisited on September 1st to look at achievability.)
While we work on next steps to achieving these goals, we have put together a survey for IAC Members to help us understand their waste use, habits, and motivation to change.
