Hello and a warm welcome. My name is Andrea, and I use she/her pronouns. I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) offering online, phone, and in-person counselling and psychotherapy in downtown Toronto.
My story: After experiencing transformative healing of body and mind after my first meditation retreat (vipassana/insight tradition) in 2007, I decided that I wanted to dedicate my life to helping others as a psychotherapist. I have trained at the University of Toronto in the Masters of Psycho-Spiritual Studies program and at the Toronto Centre for Applied Buddhism. I’m currently doing additional training in a somatic therapy called sensorimotor psychotherapy and have completed training in grief counselling. I will be completing my final part-time practicum at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) by April 2025.
My approach: Past clients have told me that I’m a caring, open, patient, and non-judgmental therapist. I use an inclusive, compassionate, trauma-informed and person-centred approach to support clients in reconnecting with their truth, joy, and inner compass. I work collaboratively with clients to support healing and connection and to help them see different perspectives, make sense of emotions and experiences, and find meaning in their lives. I facilitate and support growth, inner strength, clarity, and resilience while respecting an individual’s needs. I help to foster self-awareness and self-understanding so that clients can find balance, reach their goals, and feel better.
My integrative depth-oriented approach is informed by my personal mindfulness practice and focuses on the relationship between mind, body, emotion, spirit, and social connections. I integrate ideas and practices from:
My areas of focus: I work with people from diverse backgrounds and identities who are exploring life transitions, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, chronic pain, fertility/parenting challenges, perfectionism, depression, anxiety, anger, stress, grief, loss, spirituality, and many other things.
Sessions: My session fees are fully or partially reimbursed by most extended insurance providers. I would love to hear from you and offer a free consultation to determine if my services can be of support to you at this time.
