Expressive Arts Therapy with a mindfulness, somatic and body-centered approach

sundanceexpressivearts.ca

Drawing on a dance, music, and acting background, and by a more recent found love of the visual arts, I bring a diverse approach to the expressive artistic process. Informed by a foundation in mindfulness meditation, yoga, earth-based spirituality, and a passionate interest in neuroscience, I have a lively curiosity towards the integration of the human mind, body and spirit.

I work with:
  • women, men, children, couples and groups
  • anxiety, depression, low self esteem
  • behavioral and developmental difficulties
  • addictions, trauma and difficulties regulating emotion
  • bereavement, life transitions and challenges
  • anyone wishing to explore their own creativity
  • anyone wishing to explore and develop their own meditative,
    creative and spiritual practice

Some of the benefits may include:
  • Building tools for managing stress, overwhelm and anxiety
  • Working through fears and emotional blocks
  • Accessing and building upon inner healing resources
  • Cultivating a sense of ease with vulnerability
  • Finding peace, joy and play through difficult times
  • Learning to trust oneself and others
  • Practicing healthy boundaries and self care
  • Holding gentleness, compassion and curiosity towards self and others

I have witnessed in myself and others, our capacity to cultivate joy, gratitude, resilience and inner wisdom, and to transform our lives moment by moment.
I work sensitively with issues of race, sexual orientation, gender, class, age, language, ethnicity, religion and mobility.
I look forward to meeting new people and new groups, and sharing in the surprise
and discovery that new connections, relationships and creative explorations bring.
