On Wednesday, July 15th, we take a look at Ancestral Healing in a panel discussion with Andrea Tirone, Psychotherapist; Deborah Brodey, a Transformation Guide, Yoga Teacher (20 years), Vocal Sound Healer & Ceremonial Facilitator; and Michele Meehan, a Psychotherapist who specializes in breathwork.
Patterns in our behaviours, bodies, hearts and minds can often be rooted in ancestral patterns. For those who recognize patterns which no longer serve, they often uncover these ancestral roots and are seek practices to support a healthy release or healing process. In this panel discussion, we explore how to find out if a pattern may indeed be ancestral, and what practices can support healthy honouring, healing and release processes.
Andrea: As a therapist trained to hold space for both the spiritual and human being-ness of my clients, my work aims to connect people with the deep emotional basis for their present day issues. Using tools such as guided imagery, hypnosis and family constellation work, specifically the use of genograms, my work aims to shine a light for clients on how to reconcile patterns and behaviours that no longer serve their highest good.
Michele: I am a registered psychotherapist and a facilitator of integrative breathwork. Through my work with breath I have learned the power of the breath to transform our emotional states, including fear. I teach my clients how to use the breath as an ally to consciously shift from a place of fear or anxiety to a place of grounding and relaxation. I also teach how to use the breath for release of emotional energy, transformation, and integration.
Deborah: I began my career on the frontline, working in social agencies in Toronto and then later as a Yoga teacher creating wellness programs for marginalized women and people living with addictions. Over the last several years I have created and developed the Radical Self Nourishment program, which focuses on holistic Self Care for Changemakers & healers and helping professionals so that they can be nourished as they nourish others.
